At Riverside Motor Camp we welcome people from all corners of the world; our park is also small pet friendly (the exception being the inside of our cabins) .
We are within walking distance of the main street with museum, shops, food outlets and the Wairoa i-Site (Intercity Bus Stop).
There are many great outdoor activities within the Wairoa district: Morere Natural Saltwater Hot Springs is an easy 40km drive away; Mahia Peninsula with Hawkes Bay’s best swimming beaches is just 50 kms away.
A community centre swimming pool and gymnasium are next door, and a great children’s playground, just beside that.
This is a friendly, tidy and down-to-earth place in a convenient location; a useful stopover between Napier and Gisborne on your holiday travels and business visits to Wairoa.

We came through Wairoa a few years ago and stayed at the best motorcamp in the Motu. A permanent resident helped my blind husband cast a line into the river on the boundary, while I set up the tent. We have been camping forever all around NZ and Riverside touched our hearts and we will book after the

This campsite is great. A super nice and helpful couple who run the campsite, nice pitches on grass and nice campers.Everything is super clean and well maintained. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a small vegetable garden.The location is good for starting hikes or a short walk into the “city”. WiFi is included in the price.All in all: Everything is great 👍

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Gisborne. This camp ground is awesome very clean and tidy, and quiet. It is next to the river and very close to town. They also let you take produce from there veggie garden your tomatoes were very tasty. We will be back to stay.

We have been on the road for 10 months traveling the South and now the North Island. Wairoa has a poor reputation but we have loved it here.From the time you are greeted by the camp custodians the wonderfully manicured grounds the spotless facilities we rate this as our number one campground in NZ. Also of note is the communal vegetable garden which you are welcome to use.We have been here 10 days and will be sorry to leave.

A wonderfully quiet site with very friendly owners. I stayed a couple of nights over the long weekend. Wairoa is a great base for travelling around the Bay to places of interest and has some great takeaway food places too. Wairoa has a nice river side walk and some beautiful buildings too. Good value for money, and extremely clean. Has everything you could want, I would definitely recommend.🙂🙂🙂

Politely greeted,clean and well groomed camp. Amazing big trees all around beside the river was peaceful. The art work was very eye catching. I loved the lawnmower bike and the legs with boots on up in the air. Lost. Music going in the toilets and showers was great.👍

Quiet and impeccably clean campsite with well-equipped and spotless kitchen.The owner was very friendly and has given the campsite a homey feeling with for example music and coloured curtains in the super clean bathroom. Some may find this a little old-fashioned, but I loved the personal style the owner had added to it.
